STUP Award
The New York Times
CSW 08-01
In its fervor and biased reporting, the New York Times ran a story about the destruction of some interrogation video tapes made at Guantanamo. The Times' subheading on the story read "White House Role Was Wider Than It Said." That statement was an untruth.
Knowing they had published more lies about the White House, the Times issued a correction to the front page story albeit buried in small print on or about page 35 of the following day's issue. Perhaps you think it a menial thing, but it goes to the overall trustworthiness of the newspaper.
The Times had her day but that day is no longer.
Congrats Gray Lady, you're our STUP once more!
