What do democrats Timothy Geithner, Obama's appointee as Treasury Secretary, Tom "the whiner" Daschle, Obama's appointee for Health and Human Services Secretary, and Charlie Rangel, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, have in common? You're right; they're all tax cheats.
The House and Senate approved Geithner because his $34,000 tax problems of 4 years running were "honest mistakes." Obama says Geithner is the best man he could find for the job. Boy, are we in trouble!! Hey, look! Geithner only cheated for four years that we know about. What's the big deal with a little tax cheating by the next head honcho of the IRS?
Former Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD) failed to pay taxes on consulting fees, a luxury car and driver, and for taking tax deductions for unwarranted charitable contributions. His "honest mistake" tab was $140,000.00.
Neither Geithner nor Daschle became aware of their "mistakes" until they were nominated for cabinet positions. Funny how that happens!!
Charlie Rangel (D-NY) failed to pay taxes on rental property income in the Bahamas. He's also being investigated for campaign contribution problems, personal tax problems and many more questionable financial practices. This is what we said in 2008:
"Watch this silly apology. The man who chairs the committee that writes our tax laws can't even read a prepared apology/excuse statement very well. What he is trying to apologize for is his failure to pay income taxes on income received from a luxury condo rental property he owns in the Caribbean. Since the villa is in the Dominican Republic, he blamed his tax problems on a language barrier. He couldn't understand his accountants." CSW 9/12/08
And we shouldn't forget Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) who Obama nominated to be Commerce Secretary. Richardson had to withdraw because he is under a grand jury investigation for a contracts scandal. Obama really knows how to pick 'em. And this is the guy running our country?!?
