Well, Do You Think This Is Important?

If you will notice, the new word to describe Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky is that he was attempting to “Bribe” him. Because he attempted to bribe him, President Trump must be impeached. Let’s forget about the fact that no bribery took place, that simply doesn’t matter. They use the word because the term is used when describing the constitutional statement concerning impeachment.
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Article 2 Section 4
Therefore, you will begin to hear the word more often in the impeachment hearings currently taking place. There is a problem here, however. To be convicted of a crime the crime needs to be committed. And this is where the breaking news comes in.
A statement from the Ukrainian Foreign Minister is throwing cold water on the bribery accusation. He stated in an interview that U.S. Ambassador Gordon Sondland never told them or even implied to them that there was a link between the delay in military aid and the investigations into Burisma Holdings where Hunter Biden sat on the Board of Directors or any other investigation. Minister Prystaiko on Thursday told journalists in Kyiv that:
“Ambassador Sondland did not tell us, and did not tell me exactly, about the relation between the [military] assistance and the investigations. You should ask him. I do not recall any conversation with me as with foreign minister. It was not we, the Ukrainian officials (who were told this),”
“I have never seen a direct link between investigations and security assistance. Yes, investigations were mentioned, you know, in a presidential conversation. But there was no clear connection between these events.”
So now you have President Zelensky and the Foreign Minister all stating that there was never any connection between the military aid and investigation of any kind. That neither President Trump nor any of the officials working for Trump ever insinuated that the aid was linked to investigations. Also, keep in mind that at the time of the call between Trump and Zelensky in July, Ukraine had no idea the aid was being held up. In fact, they didn’t know anything about this until August 29th. This has been attested to by Ambassador Taylor in Thursday’s hearings.
Okay so why is this important, because we are hearing about all the presumptions made by Sondland, and what he told Kent and Taylor and then Taylor and Kent repeat what Sondland or one of their aids said. Of course none of these presumptions have been confirmed in any way. All the direct evidence is saying that there was never any link between military assistance and investigations of anyone or any company. In case you are wondering, this is why Rep. Mike Quigley stated that hearsay testimony can be more compelling than direct evidence.
Democrats want you to disregard what the people who are involved in this whole thing are saying, and believe the second, third and in some cases fourth hand hearsay instead. One thing everyone agrees with is that Burisma is a corrupt company and needs to be investigated regardless if Joe Biden is running for President. When has it ever been true that if you are running for president, neither you nor your family can be investigated for potential corruption just because you are running for office? That isn’t digging up dirt on an opponent (although that is exactly what the DNC and the Clinton campaign did. They got dirt from Ukraine) this is President Trump fulling an obligation as president to ensure that taxpayer money isn’t going to a corrupt nation.
One thing we know for sure, If Biden’s name was Trump and Hunter’s name was Don Jr., their actions would be condemnable and seen as out right criminal activity. When Trump sees potential influence peddling by the Biden family, he is trying to dig up dirt.
Every fact says there is no bribery, no quid pro quo which isn’t a crime in any case. All the actual players in this situation are saying there is nothing to see here. Now we have the Foreign Minister saying there was never any link between Assistance and investigations, neither direct nor implied, but the democrats march on. Do you think any of this is important?
